Page 3 hairstyles: complete

Image
My hairstyle section of my magazine is complete! I used Canva to find a template in a good format that can split up the winter and summer hairstyle section. I used one of each of photos I took of my hair and placed it in a proper order. I also wanted to add more of a winter effect of to the magazine since we have a summer picture as the cover so, I used one of my winter photos I took this year into the bunch. I wrote on each side of the page "summer hairstyles" and "winter styles" to tell which season I'm talking about. I wrote the descriptions on how it would be a good hairstyle for that season and why it's a good style in general for each. I used a line tool to split each side for it not to be super crowded.  The final product: It looks a bit blurry, but I promise you it's not!

Interview with esthetician planning

Image
First thing before we start the interview with the esthetician, which also happens to be my mother I have to plan some questions. I need three general questions, three winter skincare questions and three summer questions. I looked up some questions on Google for some ideas I can ask. I'm not doing all of these questions just a few maybe one for each section. These are what I came up with: General Questions: How does your skincare routine change between winter and summer? What are some common skincare mistakes girls make when switching up their routine for different seasons? Do your skin's needs change with the seasons, and if so, how? Winter Skincare Questions: Winter air can be super drying. What are some easy ways to keep skin moisturized during the colder months? If skin gets flaky or red in the winter, what products or ingredients should you use to fix it? What is the best skincare treatment that you would recommend during the winter months? Summer Ski...

Winter hairstyles: Production process

Image
My partner and I are taking winter hairstyle photos today. I did sock curls and a French braid. I did the sock curls last night before I went to bed and forgot to do a behind the scenes shot but, I have a picture with the socks in when I did it another time. Since, I live in Florida it was hard to get a background that was winterlike, so I tried to pose Infront of a bookshelf for my sock curls and for the French braid, my brother's bathroom has wooden walls, so I just grabbed a black jacket and posed Infront of the wall for the photos. Again, we used my partners camera for a "vintage" effect.

Summer hairstyles: Production process

Image
Today, my partner and I took pictures of our summer hairstyles. The styles I chose were bubble braids and it was either the messy bun or braid with beads and decided to go for a braid with beads. I used little rubber bands for the bubble braids. T o do the braid with beads I grabbed a little section of the side of my hair and did a braid and added colorful beads, pink, blue, orange and white. I took the photos in my backyard next to the lake and trees to add a summerlike and junglelike effect. I also used my partners camera to add a vintage, teen girl outcome. These are the behind the scenes (BTS) photos of my partner doing my hair.

Ideas for page 3: Hairstyles

Image
My partner and I found some hairstyles we can use for page 3 of our magazine. We are doing 2 winter hairstyles and 2 summer hairstyles, 4 in total hairstyles for this page. I looked for some inspiration on Pinterest, an app consisting of pictures where you can find ideas. Then, I noted on my note's app what my partner and I are going to do. We both did different hairstyles so it's not too much alike. Like myself teenage girls love to mess around and play with their hair with different styles. Some of these styles are super cute and fitting for the seasons, in humidity and heat. N being my partner and O being me. On my notes app I put sock curls and loose French braid for winter. Some inspiration pictures are:  For summer bubble braids and messy bun or a section of hair with beads, I'm not sure yet. Some inspiration pictures are:

Table of contents: Finished product

Image
Today, I finished page 2 of the magazine, the table of contents. I looked online for some information of what I can provide in the table of contents and even looked at magazines in Target! I found a Taylor Swift magazine which helped me discover the information I needed and what my title and description should be about.  I'm using Canva to make all my magazine pages.  I found a proper template that can fit all the photos I want and has enough space for writing. I started off with the titles, I tried to make it fun and catchy for the teen girl affect and to interest the "readers". I added enjoyable, little descriptions under the titles on what the page of the magazine will contain. I gathered all my pictures, the ones me and my partner took and pictures I already had. Again, I took photos with rollers in my hair for the hair section of the magazine. Took photos with a face mask on and cucumbers on my eyes for the skincare section of my magazine. For the personality q...

Production process: Table of contents

Image
My partner and I both scheduled a day of the week for us to take photos for our table of contents. We both had ideas of what poses and props we can use to make these photos look presentable and match our theme. We used props like hair rollers, face masks, books, nail filer, and phones to create these photos. We took it on a digital camera to make it more of a teen girl effect. We first took turns to put hair rollers in each others hair for the page in our magazine about hair styles then started posing, we took a bunch and chose the ones that turned out good. Then we started putting face masks on and took a bunch of photos as well to create photos for the skincare section in our magazine. For the personality quiz we did not know what we should do so, we are just combining two summer and winter photos we already have. We took behind the scenes photos to capture the chaos it took to create these photos.

Cover Photo: Difficulties

Image
I was wondering about how my cover photo was blurry, just the photo not the text. I tried to find out the problem which took a bit of time, I thought it was necessarily because of the blogger website and thought if I downloaded it elsewhere it wouldn't be blurry, that wasn't the problem. It ended up being due to it being edited. In a previous blog when we had to edit the cover, we had to crop the shadows and that ended up being the problem. Since the photo was too small to be clear it became unclear. It didn't bother me if it had I would have to unabbreviated the photo which included the shadows which I would dislike more overall. So, we ended up sticking with the hazy photo. The more I looked at the photo it grew on me and added to the aesthetic.

Finishing Cover

Image
Today, I am adding text into our cover page, finally! We are focusing on the font sizes and colors. We already have our text which was presented in our other blogs. I already imported my background into Canva and resized it and now time to pick my font! For the title I used the font "HEADING NOW 91-" in hot pink to symbolize teen girls and part of it I put in the font "Heading 11-18" in the color yellow. On the right side I used the "Tex Grye Termes" in orange and under it I put it in a smaller size in black. Under that on the right side I put it in "copperplate gothic" in the color yellow and under I put in the font "HEADING NOW 91-" in white. Under that I put the font "Leugue Spartan" in red and under "HEADING NOW 91-" again in black. Now on the left side I used the font " Playfair display black" in an aqua color and "Decalotype light" in yellow beneath that. Under that "EB Garamond" ...

Editing cover photo

Image
I have found my photo for the cover page! It seemed bland so, I had to adjust it a bit. I used the photos app on my phone for a pop of color. Today we are going through the process on how I edited..                                                                            This to..                                                                      This. The final product! It might look the same but you can see a slight difference. Also in the original photo you can see the shadows of people on the sand so, I made sure to crop that out as well. I did this w...
